Lunar Landing

I forgot about the moon
like I forgot the voice
of my parents smile.

I forgot about the moon
like I forgot water running
in another room.

I forgot about the moon like the street number
of an abandoned house.

I forgot about the moon, like the cultural shrapnel of an old headline,
until the tree clinging fog unbuttoned,
          to reveal His pearl.
